Shows
Our list of show car,
motorcycle and RV shows that we believe are worth
spending your time and money to attend.
Being
located in Phoenix, AZ. we primarily attend shows in the
West although we have attended motorhome shows around
the country. As well we have attended shows each month
from January through November, sometimes three shows in
a month. Some good or great shows we have attended no
longer exist or the original promoters have sold them
and so much has changed so we don’t mention them. Our
preferred and not recommended shows;
January
The
FMCA Western States Regional Rally
in
Indio, CA. is the one show not to miss if you are into
motorhomes. Held at the fairgrounds it has all the
makings of a larger show but with the personal feel of a
small show. Tons of vendors and coach exhibitors, it
does not get much better. Held just prior to the
Quartzsite, AZ. RV show, it is a ton better, cleaner and
more fun. Forget Quartzsite and its dirt, go to this
one. A must show. (A+ rating)
March
Midnight at the Oasis
in Yuma, AZ is just a great little car show. Held at
the Ray Croc ball stadium it gives you a great couple of
days. Not a real big show but great cars, nightly
entertainment, a good vendor selection and held in a
nice location. Well worth the time and money. (A+
rating)
FMCA
International Motorhome Rally
held in various locations each year, March and August.
If motorhomes are your thing, these shows are not to be
missed. You do not have to be an FMCA member to
attend. There is an absolutely great selection of new
and used coaches for sale each show. I don’t think you
can see as much in any single city in a week as you can
see at one show. The Vendor selection is just as
great. If it exists, it probable is available at the
show. For the most part the vendors are dedicated RV
people. Many items can be installed at the show. (A+
rating)
Daytona
Beach Bike Week
held in the Daytona Beach, FL area has more going on
than you could count. Bike Week, Daytona 500 NASCAR
race and spring break. Sometimes it is too much! Tons
of fun, people, bikes, people, rides, people, vendors,
WOW! (A+ rating)
April
Kool
April Nites
in Redding, CA held at the city convention center is an
example of a large but really great show. Nightly
entertainment, great, great cars, complete list of
vendors even after you discount the juke vendors. Great
location and usually some rain. I always found the 2000
mile round trip well worth it. What more can I say.
(A+ rating)
May
The
FMCA Glass Rally
in
Berrien Springs, MI is another example of a small
motorhome show that is big in nature with the feel of a
small show. Great display of coaches, Great lineup of
vendors, great scenic location. Can there be more? I
think not. A must stop for motorhomes. (A+ rating)
Myrtle
Beach Bike Week
in Myrtle beach, S.C. is held all over the area. One of
the destination bike shows similar to Sturgis Race and
Rally. For bikers this is one of the must see shows.
Tons of bikes, vendors, bikes, vendors, no I didn’t
repeat myself, scenery, great rides. Just Go! (A+
rating)
June
Laconia
Motorcycle Week in Laconia, N.H. is held all over the
area. This is an all brand bike week. Lots of rides,
bikes, events, vendors, fun. Worth going to. (A+
rating)
August
Hot August Nights in Reno, NV. One of the best car shows you can attend. Goes on all
around the Reno, NV area for about 5 days. Around
15,000 to 20,000 cars in the area each year. Fun, fun,
fun. If you don’t go, you aren’t into cars! (A+
rating)
Sturgis
Race and Rally
in Sturgis SD and all over that part of South Dakota.
Like Hot August Nights, if you are into bikes as we are
you have to go, no questions ask! I could spend a book
telling you of the fantastic sights to see and ride
through, the bikes are out of this world. The figures
vary but they are in the hundreds of thousands each
year. Excellent vendor selection. (A+ rating)

September
Street
Vibrations
in Reno, NV is still a great show with tons of bikes.
The vendors are plentiful but rapidly increasing vendor
rates are driving many great but small companies out of
the downtown area. Like other great shows of past
times, promoter greed may yet kill this one. (B+
rating)
October
Run to
the Sun
in Lake Havasu City at the golf course on the South end
of town is another example of great car shows. Usually
drawing around 1500+ cars. Great rods, great vendors
and a good time all around. (A+ rating)
Myrtle
Beach Fall Rally
in Myrtle Beach, S.C. is held all over the area. Lots
of bikes, fun, rides, vendors and everything else that
makes a great event. (A+ rating)
RVIA’s
Retail RV Show
held in Pomona, CA. at the Fairplex is an RV industry
show but is comprised of primarily local RV dealers.
The selection of all type RV’s is great, the vendor
selection is OK but is getting too many junk vendors.
All in all you should see it if in the area. (B rating)
November
Goodguys Car Show
in Scottsdale, AZ. The show is decent, a good selection
of cars and vendors, the location at West World in
Scottsdale provides great scenery and November in the
valley of the sun is outstanding. (B rating)
We know
there are other good shows out there but we have not
attended them or talked to enough people to confirm they
are indeed great shows. Some shows were great like
Laughlin River Run but now are not so great or even
good.
